Providing waste management services for Retro Rides Weekender

TJ Waste provided waste management services for the Retro Rides Weekender, which took place at Goodwood on 11 and 12 May. The Weekender brings together curated paddocks, track action, retro parking, club displays, weekend camping, great food and good vibes!

This is the third year that TJ has provided waste management services for this event. We supplied four 12 yard enclosed skips to accommodate all the waste that was generated throughout the event.

TJ delivered the skips to the site on Thursday so that they were in place and ready ahead of time, and collected them on the Monday to get the waste off site quickly and efficiently.

After the event, the skips were taken to TJ’s Yapton Materials Recovery Facility for sorting, with all recyclables being extracted and sent on to the appropriate recycling facilities. We are dedicated to diverting as much waste as possible from landfill and process all waste in line with WRAP (Waste and Resources Action Programme) protocol.

WRAP’s mission is to accelerate the move to a sustainable, resource-efficient economy by re-inventing how we design, produce and sell products, re-thinking how we use and consume products, and re-defining what is possible through reuse and recycling.

We have four Materials Recovery Facilities dotted along the south coast at Southampton, Portsmouth and Yapton, and we endeavour to reuse or recycle as much of the waste we handle as possible. We use recycling partners in and around Hampshire to ensure the different recyclables are directed down the best possible routes, and we also direct some materials towards Energy from Waste as appropriate.

The Retro Rides Weekender is one of a number of events organised annually by Retro Rides Events. They have a further event scheduled at Mallory Park in Leicester on 11 August – Retro Rides Gathering – find out more!

Keith Batsford of Retro Rides Events said: “We’ve always been pleased to work with TJ Waste. Getting everything booked is quick and simple, and the skips are always delivered (and located) accurately, and collected promptly.”
