TJ’s Bristol operation is continuing to grow with the recent addition of a second grab lorry as well as a road sweeper vehicle to its fleet. This takes TJ’s Bristol fleet to a total of 14 vehicles – the road sweeper, two grab lorries and 11 tipper trucks.
The road sweeper has a 360 camera system, high-visibility signage/beacons and audible left turn signal, ensuring safety is prioritised at all times. Our 18-tonne road sweeper has an array of street cleaning equipment, enabling them to effectively clean many surfaces and areas, including drains. These two additions have created more work for TJ’s Bristol team which resulted in Transport Operator Emma Disney increasing her hours from part-time to full-time on 1 July. Emma is now responsible for looking after the drivers during the day shift, which is a very varied role.
This includes booking in jobs and scheduling them into drivers’ workloads. If a job gets cancelled or postponed, Emma will liaise with the driver to reroute them onto another task to ensure their time is being well-used. She also logs all the drivers’ hours to monitor that they are sticking to the tacho rules.
