TJ supports Charity Golf Day

TJ Waste has supported a Charity Golf Day organised by Mountjoy to raise money for local charity Motiv8, who provide a range of support to young people in the community.

The golf day took place on 8 August at Waterlooville Golf Club and kicked off with bacon rolls and hot drinks, before the participants undertook a full 18 holes. It was then back to the club for lunch, presentations and a raffle. The day was a great success with over £6,500 being raised for Motiv8.

Four of TJ’s senior management team attended the golf day; Chairman Terry Higgins, Managing Director John Gosling, Operations Director Jamie Higgins and Commercial Director Luke Haskell, making a monetary donation to take part. 

Mountjoy, who provide high-quality construction, refurbishment, building maintenance and facilities management services across the south of England, are dedicated to supporting their communities in any way they can, with Motiv8 being their partner charity for whom they fundraise regularly.

Mountjoy was founded in 1992 and has grown steadily over the past 32 years, reaching a turnover of circa £46m today. As a company they aim to enhance people’s lives in the community by working in partnership with clients to construct, refurbish and maintain their buildings, providing residents with safe and comfortable environments.

Motiv8 are a local youth work charity who support amazing but often missed young people aged 9-19. They provide life skills, wellbeing support, and safe spaces to young people. They take a person-centred approach, building on what is strong, not what is wrong, to provide positive ‘life chances’ to help them and their families thrive.

TJ Waste has a close working relationship with Mountjoy, so when they reached out to ask if we’d like to support the golf day, we were more than happy to oblige. With a number of keen golfers on the TJ team, it wasn’t difficult to get Terry, John, Jamie and Luke to take part!
