TJ Waste is a major sponsor of the Denmead Beer Festival 2023, which will take place on Saturday 28 October at Denmead Community Centre. The sponsorship involved TJ making a monetary donation to the event, in return for some skip hire advertising.
This year marks the festival’s 23rd event. It is being held at Denmead Community Centre on School Lane, Waterlooville, with the festivities kicking off at 19.00 and drawing to a close at 23.30.
Tickets cost £12.50 and include one drink token. Tickets are available to purchase from Denmead Community Centre from 9am – 2pm Monday – Friday (cash or card), and from Parkers Hardware and The Forest of Bere Pub (cash only), both located in Denmead village.
There will be over 20 real ales to choose from, plus four craft ales, five ciders, wine, prosecco and soft drinks. There will be a beer token system whereby tokens are £2 each which equates to £4 per pint as one token will get you a ½ pint. It’s two tokens for a 250ml glass of wine which is great value too.
On the night, there will be live music from Mamma Belle from 9pm and a BBQ with a range of food options available. The Rugby World Cup Final will also be screened in a separate marquee from 8pm – fingers crossed England make it!
As a self-funding charity, all proceeds from the festival will go back into the Community Centre and the money raised will enable them to continue serving the community.
Chairman of Denmead Community Association Rob Stark said: “Last year’s event raised over £5,000 for the centre only for the heating to pack up in November which cost us £6,500 to fix! This highlights the need for us to continue to raise funds to look after our lovely old building. Over 40 groups use the centre seven days a week; from a pre-school to weekly luncheon clubs for the elderly in the village.
“We are the home of the under 13 England ballet squad and the award-winning Denmead brass band, as well as exercise and yoga groups, table tennis, bridge, art, upholstery and language classes. The centre hosts a diverse variety of activities for our local residents which is all self-funded by way of grants, room hire fees and fundraising. A big thank you to TJ Waste and the other local companies who have come together to support us.”
One of our skips is currently stationed in Denmead Community Centre’s car park, providing information to passers-by about TJ’s skip hire service. We can supply a skip for every project, from 2 yard mini skips to 12 yard jumbos as well as 17 or 35 yard roll-on-roll-offs for large commercial projects .
TJ sponsors a range of local events and donate to a number of charities and good causes in order to give a little something back to the community in any way they can.
