Portsmouth and South Coast Business Week delegates visit Tipner MRF

Portsmouth and South Coast Business Week took place from 24-28 February and this year’s planned activities included a visit to our newly-reopened Tipner Materials Recovery Facility for the 26 delegates.

The visitors arrived at the facility on the morning of 26th February, and once they’d been kitted out in PPE as required, TJ Waste’s Commercial Director, Luke Haskell, gave them a tour around the facility.

The comprehensive tour gave the delegates a good look around the new facilities and a talk on the services offered, what has happened with the site since the fire last July, and the new equipment that has been installed.

Luke said: “We were thrilled to welcome the visitors to our new site; it was great to show off the new facilities after what has been a particularly challenging six months. We were pleased to be part of Portsmouth and South Coast Business Week, which is an important annual event for local businesses.”

Portsmouth and South Coast Business Week is the annual showcase and celebration of our business community, designed around our four I’s; inform, invest, interact, and inspire. The week is a festival of free activities designed by business for business, supporting and championing the region. The event is organised by  Hampshire Chamber of Commerce, who encourages the region’s businesses to get involved.

Each year, a broad range of inspiring events are offered across Portsmouth, Havant, Gosport, Fareham and Southampton, with plenty of opportunities to network with like-minded businesses. This year’s event proved to be the most popular yet, with over 1,000 attendees attending 22 events throughout the week.

The last four years have seen over 3,000 business delegates attending 100 events and Open Door sessions, with a further 30,000+ people being reached through Facebook Live videos.
