Hythe Quarry supplies a 0/1mm bedding sand for cattle, which has virtually no silt and is 99% silica. In a region highly regarded for its mineral deposits, Hythe Quarry produces a gold/brown soft sand that is ideal for cattle bedding and can be collected by your haulier or delivered by our fleet of trucks.

Butser Quarry is known for its supply of rock chalk, but hadn’t been used for some years when TJ purchased it in 2017. TJ wanted to be able to supply their own aggregates to the construction industry and now with Butser Quarry fully operational, they are able to do so.

John joined TJ in 2017 after the acquisition of their two quarries – the Forest Lodge (Hythe) site and Butser Quarry in Petersfield. John has over 40 years’ experience in quarrying and landfill and brings a great deal of expertise and knowledge to the role.

In 2018 TJ sourced and delivered over 1.4 million tonnes of aggregates. Aggregates are granular materials used in construction such as sand, gravel, crushed rock or recycled and manufactured.

TJ’s provision of much-needed building materials to the construction industry in Hampshire and surrounding areas has grown since quarrying commenced at their Hythe site in August.
