Check out our guide for more information on the skip sizes we offer.
Here’s what Alex, our skip hire expert, has to say about the 6 yard maxi skip: “Our 6 yard maxi skip is the most commonly hired size, this average size builder’s skip is ideal for household clear-outs or common maintenance projects. It is also perfect for those projects that produce heavy inert waste, such as digging foundations, general landscaping, or removing an old driveway.”
TJ Waste’s 6 yard skip is one of our most popular skips – the “original builders skip” which is ideal for a wide range of medium-sized projects, including kitchen, bathroom, and other home renovations, as well as rubbish from gardens, garages and lofts. Perfect for bulky waste, as well as heavy waste such as builder’s rubble, soil, or concrete.
With ample space to accommodate approximately 50-60 filled bin bags or 12 wheelie bins full of waste, 6 Yard Skips are perfectly equipped to handle most jobs that generate a moderate amount of waste. As well as being popular for domestic use, they are also frequently used on building and construction sites.
If you’re looking to hire a 6 yard skip, our professional team will deliver it to your property and remove it efficiently, disposing of the waste safely and legally.

Our skip deliveries are carried out between 7am and 6pm unless a specific time slot has been confirmed in advance. Once you’ve booked your skip, you will receive an email from us confirming all the details and providing a contact for any further queries you may have. The skip delivery will usually take between 10 and 30 minutes, depending on your location, accessibility etc.
Whilst we will always endeavour to meet your time requirements, we are unable to guarantee time slots so please don’t bank on it arriving early in the morning. If you definitely need the skip in the morning, we suggest booking it to arrive the day before, or opting for our priority delivery, whereby we will guarantee its arrival by midday for an additional charge of £35.
If your property has limited access or the area that the skip will be going is tight, please consider your availability to be present on the date of delivery. Be sure to let us know ahead of time so we are expecting this and can be prepared for it.
If you need to keep your skip on the road, we will purchase a permit on your behalf. Please be aware that road permits usually take 5 working days, but can take up to 7 working days to obtain, and last for 7 days.
