TJ Waste & Recycling has recently won a contract to take on the waste management of one of the largest business parks on the South Coast.

Fasset Business & Property Solutions, who operate Langstone Technology Park at Havant, have appointed TJ Waste & Recycling as their main waste contractor.

TJ Waste & Recycling will be responsible for removing all of the 42-acre sites everyday waste, including plastics, paper, cardboard and aluminium cans, and recycling as much as possible.

Materials are collected twice-weekly for sorting at TJ's waste transfer station at Harts Farm Way, Havant, before being recycled by third parties.

Cyril Campbell, Fasset's Environmental Advisor, said "TJ Waste & Recycling is providing a competitively priced complete waste management for Langstone Park, which, in common with all large business parks, has general waste challenges."

"For example, in the first five months of this year, we sent 118 tonnes to landfill, although this was a welcome decrease of 26.5 tonnes over the same period last year because of our onsite recycling initiatives."

"With TJ Waste & Recycling on board, we anticipate less material going into landfill, which should also cost us less in the future as landfill costs are set to rise further still under EU law."

Graham Wells, Operations Manager at TJ Waste & Recycling, said "We're thrilled to be the waste carrier of choice for what is one of Hampshire's largest business parks.  Our depot recycling rates average 72%, offering clients such as Fasset the reassurance that recycling is worth every effort."
